Purpose is to reduce the time permitted to lodge a protest to 30 minutes from 60 minutes. With results being posted online and in print within seconds after the completion of a session, there is little need for such a prolonged period of time for lodging a protest.

    Old
11.4 If a competitor wishes to protest another racer in the same class (a rider filing a protest against another rider must have taken part in the event during which the alleged violation took place – only riders may file protests), the protest must be filed with the Referee within sixty (60) minutes of the completion of the race. To file a protest, cash (see Types of Protest for fee schedule) must be used and a brief written explanation of the details of the protest must be made and signed and presented by the rider filing the protest.

i don't agree with this one,,,
by the time you get off track, out of gear, look up the rule book, see your riders rep (who might be on track) write it up.etc..etc...
    1/2 is not long enough!

That's easy to fix. Take the Rider Rep out of the equation. Writing up a protest takes 5-10 minutes? But I'll leave it in the capapble hands of the Committee.

I just checked. There's no mention of a Rider Rep anywhere in Chapter 11.
