I was wondering if racers that are coming for the first trackday/new racer school day would be able to do practice starts when the school group is out. It would be nice to get some practice if it was available.
I saw a few times two racers practicing launches on race day just before a hybrid session. I don't remember anyone doing those on a regular track day. I asked once as a regular track day rider if I could join in on the school session, but it was a full class. Not really fair to the students who paid for the school.
Practice starts are on the agenda for the upcoming meeting with the race operations crew. Finding time to fit them into the schedule and in a safe way are the concerns. I honestly don’t think it’s going to happen but that’s just my opinion. It would not be done during the school group practice starts session.
If there's takers we will run a quick session of practice starts during the bike pick up/break scheduled after the practice sessions. You will take to the track from pre grid, start from the line and exit the track at turn 2. Slowly make your way back to pre-grid and get in line to launch again if there is time.
Race start practices have been discussed with Jason and we have a plan for the next race weekend. A simple way to allow any rider to practice start at the beginning of a practice session, stay tuned! Race Director.
Will Quentin Cyre be available for coaching on practice starts? If not I'll bring the RC51 and help out...............
