Hey all- I have an 08 ZX10r. I am thinking about putting it on the track. I am looking for any suggestions regarding geometry and gearing that you may have. Thanks. The bike has racetec valves and shims, and is resprung. It does not have any ride height shims on the shock.
Rear axle as far back in the swingarm as possible. It will slow down the effects when the rear wheel gets sideways. It will happen if you're not carefull. Be as smooth as you can with power delivery and brakes.
Yeah, def. What I am looking for is any spacer recommendations... also some advice on lowering the front (initial set up ideas). Gearing too. I know someone on this board raced one at mission, so that is why I posted. Hopefully, someone can put me in touch with him.
go on to the EMRA site and talk to Fireman A.K.A. Justin Knapic. He can tell you all you need to know. Good luck.
Thanks Dean. I went and did my homework, and I have an understanding of swing arm angle now. I used to think it was bike specific, or more bike specific than it actually is. Now I understand it to be bike and rider specific, but within fairly common baselines, so I am going to wing it (if I do it). I will still PM him at some point, though. Next question: Is traction control (like the Bazazz unit) legal in WMRC classes?
Nope... No. So it looks to me after reading the rules that traction control would be allowed in all the classes this bike could conceivably be raced in. It that is wrong, please correct me, thanks.
