Brett had a pair of 16th place finishes in his first WSBK race weekend. Great job Brett. He ran as high as 11th in Race 1, and managed to finish both races. I wonder how many other WSB rookies can say that? Steve Dick always said that, even when he was a kid, Brett had a very reasoned and methodical approach to learning new bikes, tracks and techniques, an attitude which I'm sure will serve him well this season.
C'mon Mel. Compared to Grampas Biaggi and Checa, Brett is still a kid. He did well for his first time out. Didn't throw it down the road, didn't get lapped posted consistent times and would've had points if not for running out of gas. A good weekend.
Isn't that exactly what I said?... When I said, "I wonder how many other WSB rookies can say that," my point was that I believe very few or none of them matched Brett's outstanding WSB debut performance today. I think he surpassed everyone's expectations, and full credit to him for doing so.
Yeah in the first race you could see that Maple Leaf at the back of the lead group for quite a few laps. He was shown and mentioned by the commentators a couple of times on the world feed. Great to see Brett get off to such a good start.
