if you guys were gonna rebuild an older zx6r engine...where would you find the parts or do you know where to get rebuild kits.?? thank you in advance
It's an `01. I'm looking at both options....may do stock rebuild with ignition advancer, jet kit or see what kinda deals if any i can get on aftermarket parts
There is an engine on ebay now for $600.00 open to offers. If it was a street bike with lower miles it will probably see more stress and abuse on your first track day than it has to date.
For a used engine go see Brad at the Chop Shop. As for OEM 'Parts' you local sponsor should be able to help you. When it comes to hop up on the Kawis Oli seems very happy with Zlock in the US or even to some extent ATTACK racing. Little known fact is your local Kawi dealer can get a hold of 'RACE PARTS' (High compression parts, Race ECUs, Gaskets, etc) direct from Japan but they can usually only do one to two of those orders a year. Nevada, did you blow up the motor? is it salvagable. or are you just wanting to freshin up? Kit parts are going to be next to imposible to get from the manufacturer as this bike is near ten years old so you will be looking used. you can get a little HP and torque out of high comp. pistons without going crazy on $$$. Don't spend a lot of money on a 01 IMHO a good motor build will cost 3 g's
