Hi guys, After a short break this ending season was my 11th as a Marshal with WMRC. All this started back in 2006 when my dearly missed friend Don dragged me to help on a Saturday. Well, I was hooked. A certain Debbie (back then Queen of turn 1) took me under her wing and taught me the in's and out's to become a good, dedicated and passionate turn worker. Little did I know that it would become such an addiction that no 12 steps program could ever beat. Not even an intervention would work. I slowly (well, fairly fast actually) turned into a slave to the track and started Marshaling for MotoGP and WSBK.. Over the years my obsession took me to such places as Miller Motorsports Park, Mazda Raceway, Indianapolis Motor Speedway and COTA. Never to forget the Mission Raceway, Castrol Raceway and whatever the name of the other track is in Alberta. As if all these hot spots for motorbike racing weren't enough I took a liking for cars participating, last October, to my very first F1 at COTA and returning this coming season, for which I have been confirmed to be on the Pit/Paddock/Grid team. How fortunate am I ??!!!! Touching more and more the cars scene to bring a new dimension to my world. When I was driving trucks my big dream was to haul for a racing team. Well, the closest I came to that was to haul three of you and gears for a race weekend in Alberta. How much fun it was. One of the best road trip. But all this passion and enthusiasm have been fed by the very fact that you have right from the start entrusted me with your safety. It is big, as we all know, when so much can go so wrong so fast. And for this, I thank you. Also because of your constant appreciation, not just for me but for every volunteer who helped you over time, it made me want to be part of all this on a more regular basis. I will always remember where it all started and while maybe a little less available than before I will as much as I can continue to participate to the club racing/track days Ladies and Gentlemen, let me introduce you to.........Linda Dorval, Chief Marshal Area 27. Thank you very much!! note: Thank you Spero for the inspiration and for believing I could do it!!
