Hi Sean, the club is finalizing a deal where transponders will be available for rent at registration. I don't have much in the way of specifics available at this time but they will be on a first come first served basis and rental should be around $35 a day or $60 a weekend.
Hi everyone, wanted to let you all know that we(mspeedPerformance) will NOT be renting transponders anymore at Mission raceway. Please contact the race club for rentals going forward, I will be handing over my stock of rental units to them. However, we DID just get our first shipment of Pirelli race tires in for the season, contact us to get your self a set of the best race tires available! (as well as Brembo, Woodcraft, Ohlins, EBC , etc.).
Does the MyLaps/Flex AMB X2 260 transponder work with WMRC? They are available for a very good price from fleabay, 220$ Canadian.
That is the one you'd rent from mylaps. I'm not sure but the ebay rental looked more expensive than the mylaps too? You want an amb260x transponder for car or bike. Needs to be red. Don't buy anything that is yellow, or says r/c (remote control) mx or kart.
Is a subscription required? Or is that more just for MyLaps integration? On Saturday there was a guy in a booth (blue I think, East/up the track from Marbod) selling what he called transponders for $50. Anyone know if that works properly? It would be nice to buy that instead of the pricey-er AMB system.
I don't think so. I think he might be selling a lap timer for track days etc (like an XT Ultra Lap Timer). I think WMRC only uses AMB and yes they are freaking expensive.
Yes, if you are racing you need to have an AMB or Mylaps transponder 260x. The little blue box is just a lap timer.
Ah OK, thanks Andrew. Do you know if the "X2" system is compatible? MyLaps site doesn't sell the 260X system anymore, or so it seems. And is a subscription required every year for the thing to work?
