WMRC present: Motogp Racing Season Kickoff Party Manchester Pub http://www.manchesterpub.ca/ 1941 w. Broadway (between Cypress & Maple) Sunday April 7th. Doors open at 11:00m. Qatar Motogp at noon followed by Moto2 & Moto3 followed by trackday/racing seminar/Q&A. The races will be epic in HD on the 12 big screens and huge projector screen! Seating is first come first served just like the Daytona Party. This is a party to kickoff the riding season and to promote trackdays & racing in general. The tickets that were given out at Bernie's Daytona Party are just for promo purposes and not needed at the door as admission is FREE. By all means ride there and park on Broadway, let's fill the whole block with motorcycles! Racers are encouraged to bring their racebikes complete with tents as we will be setting up a mock pit lane in front of the pub. After the races, the usual suspects from WMRC, WCSS & Pitt Meadows Track Days will hold a short seminar/Q&A on trackdays/racing. There's also chance Rod from RMR will hold a suspension seminar and well as appearances from a couple of "top secret" special guests. Does everyone remember Motorcycle Mondays at the Flying Swan on 4th Ave?....always thought that we needed something like that again, so if this is successful we might be able to make it a regular event!
No, I wanted to be there, but had family commitments. First time since I started riding in 2004 that I wasn't at the Daytona Party.
Yes, BUT minors are not allowed in certain areas of the pub: -around the bar top -tables by the east wall -pool table -patio That leaves the raised section of low top tables by the west wall and the high top tables between the bar and the patio. Just ask a staff member if not sure. It's like that because they have both liquor primary AND food primary licenses. Really hope to see you there Simon!
I'll be riding out from Abbotsford with a couple others. We will meet at the Mt.Lehman Tim Horton's (Abbotsford Automall) @ 9:00am, leaving at 9:30 sharp. Mapquest says approx 1hr 5 mins ride time. Anyone who wants to come with us is welcome, just be on time, please.
Claude (Shovelhead on BCSB) is doing up a pool for the Motogp race. His post from BCSB: 03-20-2013*06:54 PM #14 Here's my contribution to the Motogp kick off party. I will make up a "grid type" pool for the race, Everybody take a square (or two depending on attendance) and when the grid is filled up, we draw for riders and position to be put on the grid. I am de-Junking so I will bring motogp related prizes. Dvd's, pit shirts, books, poster, etc... Prizes will be for podium winners, first crash, first CRT, etc... The best part of it all.....It's all free, free to play.
I'll do my best to be there, but I've missed lots of weekends at home lately so I'll need a hall pass...
Any racers that want to bring their racebikes to display them in front of the pub please get there before 11am...(like 10:30) so we could organize the "pit lane". ...should be slightly AWESOME!!
