Would any of the club members who participate in any other forms of outdoors sports such as dirt biking/ATV'ing/skiing be interested in a Trade Show that encompassed all three forms? And secondly, would an auction for dirt bikes/ATV's be of interest to people? Impromptu poll kind of to gauge interest for a friend who is looking at putting a show on. Thanks to all who respond.
Let me think really hard on this for a few minutes .... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... Ahah! Eureka!!! I think the ATV-ers would want to be in on an ATV auction and the dirt bikers would want a dirt bike auction. I know I might be going out on a limb over this, but I would also hazard a guess that the skiers would be all over a ski auction. Question is, what kind of skis? Cross country, downhill, etc, etc. The more auctions the better, right? Best of luck on your friend's plans. It must be nothing short of a monumental task. Didn't really answer your question, did I?
I'm just going to go on a limb here and state that all those activities can be/are expensive. I'm not sure that people do all 3, and if they do, there is not a lot of them. ATVers rarely ride DB, DB riders usually don't like ATVers, and skiers/boarders barely know about the others.
My first thought on this is, wouldn't he be better off trying to get in as part of the Vancouver Outdoor Adventure and Travel show? Or get bigger ATV/Dirtbike push in the bike show? Or the Vancouver Snow Show? Why re-invent the wheel, so to speak, when there are already events going on that encompass the activities mentioned. I'm also curious how skiing fits in with dirtbiking and ATVing?
Skiing sometimes but more into sledding in the winter. I don't know if one venue could make everyone happy, including the vendors, and most people pick one or two of the hobbies. As far as an auction goes, I'd be willing to check one out. For fund raising? I've never heard of actual auctions for those kind of things unless it's part of estate/seizure sales.
