From what was said at the January meeting.. Turn 6 has been repaved and the outside wall has been moved back 4 to 6 feet which will allow our air-fence to be off the paving and therefore widening the track for us. Blair's flag station has been moved back and downsized.
The car club really appreciated the wmrc racers that came out today. Hopefully we'll have even more of us out for the next one. Wall on rider's left removed going into T3:
One block of wall removed exit of T9 and dip(s) being filled in exit of T1. The wall outside of T6 will be placed further out after the back fill is in and the inside wall will be moved after that.
Yes, 6 will be repaved. The ground up asphalt will be packed along the inside of 6, and the outside of the straight between 6 and 7 as a safety buffer.
Just like ctardi said. In case there's any confusion the inside curbing will remain in place (just the actual track surface will be ground up). My concern is that there should definately be curbing installed on the exit of T6 (outside) because the cars will create a dip just like on the exit of T1.
So no change to the race line except that the exit should be able to be opened up a couple feet by setting the air fence back?
Correct but more than a couple, probably a few....perhaps even several. They're thinking about 4 feet, they'll have a better idea once the back fill is in. Plus the fact that the opposite wall is going to be moved out 5 feet or so will really open up the sight lines not only for racers but spectators too.
