Then you won't be needing that pesky old Kawasaki, then, will you? Well, if it's just going to be sitting around I could find some use for it... Seriously, though, congrats on your new pair of twins! You'll have a blast on them this year, for sure.
There's no question, the Honda (reliability, skookum overbuilt frame, etc) The SV is a grenade waiting to explode.
Sv650 = Fun RC51 = FUN!!! Seriously, the RC is a much more stable ride without needing too many mods. The SV650 is a very fun bike, but could use better suspension (GSXR front end replacement! and better shock), motor work to bring it up to 90+ horse, etc. All that can = big dollars! However, in it's close to stock form, you'll only need 2 to 3 sets of tires for the year, so it's cheaper to run. You can dress the RC up and give it some nice bling, but after mapping and doing a few usability mods (battery relocation, new brake and clutch masters), it's ready to race with little dollars put in it. It will chew through tires a little faster, but it's awesome! If I only had to choose 1, it'd be the RC.
Im looking at these actual bikes that I posted above..oh, the Kawi im still riding.. the SV is well sorted i think, no big-ass motor job, but its a decent motor job, plus gsxr front end, brembo crap, blah,blah.. the RC is DONE, big melons, etc.. hmmmm...
Get the RC. I've been looking at that same one for over a month and if I didn't have too much junk in the garage already, I'd be giving that guy a call. I'm not joking.
RC RC RC did I mention RC!!!! better all around bike and won't put you to sleep on the straights and Rossi would never ride an SV
SV would be more competitive down south. That RC would be going toe to toe with 999Rs, 1098, 1198 etc.
