For those of you wanting to go to the 3 day Star School at Thunderhill March 22-24th, I have room in my trailer for up to 2 more motorcycles. You may ride with us in my truck or choose to drive, fly or ride with someone else for the trip. I have 2 rooms reserved at the Baymont Inn in Willows CA as well. I will be splitting one room with Dean, leaving the other room available. Rooms are $55US/night plus tax. You are welcome to use and pay for the other room, or I can cancel it if you have already made hotel arrangements. (second room is being held for Jacalyn) So here's the deal: I would like to load the truck and trailer the morning of Saturday March 20th, 2010. I plan cross the US boarder by 10am. As the trip is approx 16 hours, stopping in southern Oregon or Northern California and I would like to arrive at the hotel early enough on Sunday to have dinner and relax in the hot tub before a good night’s sleep. And this leaves us with enough time should we run in to traffic, snow, mechanical issues etc. etc. The return trip will be the same just heading north. We will be gone from Saturday morning until Friday night. Based on a previous trip to Seattle with my trailer loaded similarly I expect fuel costs to be in the $6-800 range based on today’s fuel pricing and the current exchange rate. This is subject to change. The trip is approx 2600km. Fuel will be split 4 ways. I will fill the truck before we leave and then we will take turns paying for fuel along the route. We will split any remaining costs when we get home. Tips towards vehicle wear and tear and maintenance, tires, brakes, etc. are appreciated. These spots are open to anyone who wants them and are on a first come first served basis. I do have one tentatively filled but am waiting for a reply. I still have 1 spot left in the trailer. I am now looking at the possiblity of taking 2 days down and back which would allow us to travel with 3 other WMRC racers.
Ok, so fill 1 spot and then had 1 rider bail out, thus leaving me again with 1 available spot in the trailer. We are leaving on Saturday March 20th, hoping to cross the boarder by 10am. Returning March 26th.
Hey folks, Rob from Calgary here. Is there anyone heading down to STAR that has NOT registered or prepaid yet? We have been talking with STAR and they said if we have 3 people or more we get a $50 discount. There are only 2 of us heading down from calgary and thought we'd see if anyone over there wants to jump on the discount. We are at the Baymont too so maybe we should do beer and wings one night mmmmmm...beeer!!!
