Motion to accept was made by Rob Schoemeyer, seconded by Jason Hanson, thirded by Jeremy Karlson Treasurer Report: Brett Hanson advised our current bank balance as of April 8 was $117,658.70. Income from March was $10,306,89 and outstanding bills include supplies for printing, supplies for hay bales, poster printing and Insurance, leaving an estimated balance of $103,875.30 Promotions Report: Thank you to all who attended the Bernie’s Daytona Party, and thank you to everyone who donated to and supported this great cause. Jay Tait advised that we are in the process or ordering thank you plaques for our 2018 sponsors. It has been announced that Honda and Kawasaki are no longer sponsoring the Gold Cup. If you are interested in seeing the continuation of this series, and stepping up to sponsor it, please contact Jeremy Karlson or Scott Borthwick. Jay also reminded everyone that now is the time for you to contact your local community paper with your brief bio and some photos. Tell them about what you do, where you live, and give them a 200 word blurb on your racing hobby. Thank you to Jeremy Karlson for his time and effort spent delivering posters and promotional information to the local dealers. New Business: You must purchase your race license ASAP! If you have not yet submitted your 2018 application and payment your race number is up for grabs. Please contact Pam Black for your forms, and once your license is purchased, be sure to go into MSR to update your account. A reminder to racers who plan to attend the May 18th Racer Track Day, you MUST register for this through MSR!!!! Also of note is that now is the time to register for the first few race rounds. Your credit card will not be charged until you check in on race day, but if you do NOT preregister, you will be charged an additional $50 late fee at check in. NEW RACERS, we encourage you to set up your Motorsport Reg account now, but you cannot actually preregister until you have competed the Race School. Please be sure to review the 2018 Rulebook. There have been changes made to tech requirements for helmets and oil filters, among other things. REMINDER, all belly pans must be removed from your bike, and brought with you to tech. You will not be teched otherwise. You may have heard already, but WMRRA has had to cancel their first race round due to insurance problems. We have reached out to their executive and membership with an invitation to join us in May and a few racers have contacted us with questions about registration and rules. If you are speaking to anyone from that club, please extend a warm welcome to them and refer them to our rule book online at wmrc.ca Our first piece of air fence has been repaired and the other pieces have been delivered to GA Checkpoint. Thank you to Jeremy, Rob, Andrew, Mike and Aleatha for their assistance with this! We are still looking for a new (to us) crash truck. If you know of something that might be suitable, please let us know. Thank you to John Cathie for all the time he has spent at the track, setting up our new timing system! Thank you to Rob Schoemeyer for taking the time to go to the Island to teach the classroom portion of the race school to the Island People not able to make it to the classroom session on May 6th. Reminder that our Hay Bale Party is April 29t, at 11:00am at the track. Please come and help out so we can get this done as quickly as possible.
