Nice to see a politician get involved and support motorsports, especially from a Vancouver perspective where our politicians see the internal combustion engine as the great evil that must be eradicated from the downtown core... and the whole lower mainland if the greenies had their way. I saw this posted earlier this month on the Calgary race forum - looks like they need a new track, and they need it soon: ----------------- The track is getting worse. I thought the speed bumps in 6 were bad before but now the track is breaking up there. On Wednesday at the BGPR event, a rider had a big chunk of pavement fly up and crack his oil pan and it nearly put him in the grass. The chunks coming up are 5 inches accross and 3 to 4 inches deep. Cones had to be put out on the race line to keep riders off the area last night at a track event. Seems to me that Race City has an obligation to provide a safe surface if they are renting the track out for the intended high speed use of it's customers. ------------------
